Tradewinds: Updating with a fresh twist

With the revitalization and renovation of the Tradewinds project in the upscale Vanderbilt Beach waterfront neighborhood in Naples I saw an opportunity to transform a seemingly unwanted and lingering property into a cash flowing vacation rental. The original structure burdened by design mistakes and functional obsolescence offered a playground to right things and lift the home to its full potential.

The overall organization of levels of privacy within the residence as well as of adjacencies and circulation flow addressed the rental purposes of creating a space to entertain while having a beautiful and livable house for a multi generational family traveling together. A series of indoor and outdoor modifications were designed to include and extend the expansive deck space.

The executive client approached me with the goal to create modern, open living spaces within an existing, traditional house and to connect the interior with newly created outdoor living areas. The project carefully balances the remodel of the more traditional portions of the existing house with the modern thoughtful expansion.

The final product became one of our top grossing additions to the rental program and eventually sold with an above average investment success.
